Palacký University Arts Centre

An impressive Baroque complex from the 17th century. Formerly a Jesuit college, today a vibrant centre of Palacký University and the heart of cultural events in Olomouc. This is where the internationally renowned festivals Academia Film Olomouc (AFO), Festival of Film Animation and Contemporary Art (PAF), and Flora Theatre Festival take place. It is also where future art historians, film experts, musicologists, fine artists, theatre theorists, and many more are educated.

You can attend lectures, plays, readings, events, and screenings in the captivating attic theatre and cinema, or you can just drop by the UP Arts Centre to take a look around. In the courtyard you will find the Celestial Globe, designed by artist and blacksmith Alfréd Habermann. A cosy terrace and the modern interiors of the popular Konvikt Bistro&Bar invite you to sit down and relax. The peaceful and enchanting atmosphere of the city wall ramparts gardens is perfect for theatre performances, film screenings, concerts, and even private weddings and parties. The local Corpus Christi Chapel is a very impressive sanctuary.
