UP Botanical Gardens

Olomouc and flowers = we must be thinking of the international horticultural exhibition Flora Olomouc, eh? Yes and no. Lovers of flowers and other plants can also find their promised land in the Botanical Gardens of the Faculty of Science. This is where you can end your walk through Smetana Park, as the university’s botanical gardens are located adjacent to it.

You can visit the UP Botanical Gardens, whose history dates back to the 18th century, from April to October, free of charge. Around 1,500 species of both common and rare plants from domestic and exotic locations await you in bloom. A hidden pearl among local oases of peace.

This spring, the garden opened a new building that provides space for thematic lectures, film screenings and other events for plant lovers.
