UPoint (UP tourist stamps)

Collectors of wooden tourist stamps, take notice! You can enhance your collection by ones featuring Palacký University’s historical artefacts.

In particular, the stamp serial number 2398, representing our alma mater as a whole, is up for grabs. You can buy it at UPoint, the university shop and information center located in the historical heart of Olomouc on the Upper Square, Horní náměstí. However, as a true tourist, you should visit all the places listed in this on-line guide before you come to collect your stamp. That goes without saying.

History lovers can also buy a limited anniversary stamp with serial number 2786, produced to celebrate the university’s 450th anniversary in 2023. This stamp was produced in only 500 pieces and is being sold out this season.

UPoint also serves as an information center, where helpful staff will answer all kinds of questions not only about studying at UP, but also about tourist attractions in the center of Olomouc. You can speak both Czech and English here.

The shop itself is an architecturally interesting location where you can visit for useful materials on the university and the town and also enjoy one of its many regularly held art exhibitions. It also offers enticing university-branded items, the UP fashion collection, books and other publications, even food and drinks, providing a great opportunity to bring home stylish souvenirs from Olomouc including locally-made products from breweries to apiaries, from young designers, and other creative artists.

If you want to have you collection of university-related tourist stamps complete, our science museum, the Fort Science, has its own stamp. It is, however, only available for purchase at the ticket office there.
