UPoint (UP 450th Jubilee tourist stamp)
A limited edition of a commemorative tourist stamp created especially for Palacký University’s 450th Jubilee is available for sale at the UPoint information centre, Fort Science, and the Olomouc Information Centre located at the Town Hall. The circular wooden stamp, number 2786, with a depiction of the original Rector’s Mace is a limited edition of 500 pieces and will be available for sale only until the end of 2023, or while supplies last. It can be franked at both UPoint and starting in May in Hodslavice, the birthplace of historian František Palacký, after whom the university was renamed in 1946. The stamp was created by a UP alumnus, David Holub.
UPoint is an architecturally interesting location where you can visit for useful materials on the university and the town and also enjoy one of its many regularly held art exhibitions. It also offers enticing university-branded items, the UP fashion collection, books and other publications, even food and drinks, providing a great opportunity to bring home stylish souvenirs from Olomouc including locally-made products from breweries to apiaries, from young designers, and other creative artists.
